Single-mode

Single-mode được sử dụng để truyền tải qua khoảng cách xa hơn. Nó là một sợi quang thủy tinh duy nhất được sử dụng để truyền tải một tia sáng duy nhất.

Dây quang Single-mode chỉ có một chế độ truyền tải. So với dây quang Multi-mode, nó có thể mang thông lượng cao hơn; tuy nhiên, nó cần có nguồn sáng có độ rộng phổ hẹp hơn.
